WCDM enters into collaboration to grow technology

In a groundbreaking move, MTN and ZTE Corporation, in partnership with local AI and IoT expert Aizatron, have announced a strategic collaboration with the West Coast District Municipality to usher in a new era of smart city development.

This initiative is set to leverage the power of 5G technology to promote sustainable urban growth, enhance management efficiency, and significantly improve the quality of life for communities in the region.
The executive mayor of West Coast District Municipality, alderman Boffie Strydom, expressed his sincere gratitude in welcoming this project to the region. “This project will certainly transform our communities. Improved connectivity for our region will enhance efficiency and global competitiveness.”

The chief executive business officer at MTN, Tumi Chamayou, said the announcement is a culmination of many discussions and networking sessions. “Today we gather to celebrate a great milestone in the existence of MTN as we try to advance communities through the digital era.”

Luca Shen from ZTE added that digital transformation and advanced technology will assist economic and commercial growth for the region.
These partners will work with the West Coast District Municipality and local municipalities in the district on identified projects across the five municipal areas in the West Coast region. (end)
